Billy McBride Jr. has been the Director of Golf at Hanging Rock since 1993. A native of Roanoke, Va., McBride moved to Silver Spring, Md., in 1950 and joined the Marine Corp. in 1962 after graduating from Wheaton High School. He was honorably discharged in 1966 and turned pro in 1967. McBride was an assistant at Northwest Park Golf Club (1966-67) and Argyle Country Club (1967-72) before moving to Lynchburg to take his first head professional job at Colonial Hills.

McBride also worked at Oakwood Country Club and Winton Country Club in Lynchburg before moving to Roanoke to become a part owner and general manager of Countryside Golf Club from 1983-1992. McBride has been directing all aspects of the golf program at Hanging Rock Golf Club since 1993.
McBride was selected Sportsman of the Year by the Lynchburg News & Advance in 1975 and was inducted into the Lynchburg Golf Hall of Fame in 1996. That same year, McBride was named Merchandiser of the Year (Public Course Category) for the Mid-Atlantic section of the PGA.

, Robbie Craft won his first golf tournament at age 6. He led
William
Byrd
High School
to the state championship in 1998 and was named first-team all-state. After earning the prestigious Don Holiday Scholarship from the
Roanoke
Valley Golf Hall of Fame, Robbie went on to earn three-time letterman status at
Christopher
Newport
University
. He played in the NCAA national championships in 2000, the same year he won the Roanoke Valley Golf Hall of Fame individual tournament. In 2001, he led the nation in all NCAA divisions in driving accuracy.

Robbie Craft

Robbie, co-holder of the Blue Hills course record (61 twice), played in more than 50 professional golf tournaments in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia while competing on the Gateway Tour and Tarheel Tour. He returned to
Virginia
in 2004 working at Blue Hills and Mariners Landing before accepting the position of Teaching Professional at Hanging Rock in September 2007.

| Wayne Gee, Assistant Professional |
Wayne Gee joined the staff at Hanging Rock in 1991. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Virginia and has been active in golf since the age of 16.
